I have a confession. I was one of many bamboozled into thinking aspartame was good for you. This artificial sweetener (which goes under the brand name NutraSweet), even sounded Nutra-itious. I thought I was doing myself a favour by opting for this synthetic sweetener over real table sugar. I believed with aspartame I was under the radar of my blood glucose levels and avoiding an insulin spike. I naïvely believed the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) made decisions based on my health and not on money. I was laughably wrong.
Nonetheless, I can't blame anyone but myself. I've disputed the nutritional claims of food products before, but I chose to believe aspartame was safe. Murmurings of it's toxicity I regarded as speculation and conspiracy from paranoid weirdos wearing tinfoil hats - until I became so ill, so poisoned with aspartame - that I could no longer ignore the truth. NutraSweet/Equal/Spoonful are contaminates unfit for human consumption.
Artificial sweeteners are not “healthy alternatives to sugar”. They are dangerous neurotoxins: poisonous foreign substance in the brain which cause distressing brain tumor-like symptoms including retinal damage, anxiety, depression, confusion, headaches, forgetfulness and chronic fatigue disorder. The large multinational corporations which marketed aspartame under the misleading brand name NutraSweet are perpetrating a criminal conspiracy to knowingly harm consumer’s health for profit and gain. I truly believe this.
But let's back up a minute. This is what aspartame is: aspartame's scientific name is 1-aspartyl 1-phenylalanine methyl ester, and its composition is 50% phenylalanine, 40% aspartic acid and 10% methanol, the same methanol used for thinning paint wood stains. Most people know methanol is a dangerous toxin. Your local poison control center will be happy to educate you on its devastating effects. Phenylalanine and aspartic acid on the other hand, are harmless amino acids when complimented with other aminos in natural foods. They become dangerous neurotoxins when ingested in isolation.
Alone and in high concentrations, they run amuck in the central nervous system, disrupting neuronal synapses, protein synthesis and mutating DNA. It's no wonder aspartame poisoning is commonly misdiagnosed; you can have a myriad of physical and mental symptoms.
Avoid anything with isolated amino acids. Only consume foods with at least 8 essential amino acids. Why? Because anything less may cause surpluses and imbalances your body can't properly regulate. NutraSweet is a perfect example.

Let me put it this way: your body doesn't understand these synthetic substances, so it stores these artificial sweeteners in your brain! Artificial sweeteners also screw up insulin regulation, giving you a sugar disorder (if you're waking up in the middle of the night dying for carbohydrates, now you know why). Obviously, you should stay away from any and all of the zillion products with aspartame, including sugarless gum.
CRACKING MOTHER NATURE'S COLOR CODE
Mother Nature often speaks in riddles, and there are many things of this world mankind does not understand, but one secret we are beginning to unravel is the color code of fruits and vegetables. Every color represents a different subset of vitamins and phytochemicals that contain protective, disease-preventing compounds. By eating the rainbow of fruits and vegetables and their individual health-promoting properties you're getting much needed variety and broadening your intake of nutrients and enzymes. Here's the list of colors and what they mean:
Red pigmentation on fruits and vegetables indicate lycopene or anthocyanins which may help reduce risk of several types of cancer, especially prostate cancer. Note: you gotta cook tomatoes to unlock its full cancer-fighting properties. Examples of fruits and vegetables in the red group include: red apples, beets, red cabbage, cherries, cranberries, pink grapefruit, red grapes, red peppers, pomegranates, red potatoes, radishes, raspberries, rhubarb, strawberries, tomatoes and watermelon.
Green fruits and vegetables are colored this way because of a plant pigment called chlorophyll. Every child's favorite food - broccoli! - contains fiber, carotenoids, calcium and vitamins, A, C and K. Green fruits and veggies are loaded with antioxidants and cancer fighting phytochemicals, so they need not apologize for their boring appearance. Members of the boring but healthy green group include: green apples, artichokes, asparagus, avocados, green beans, broccoli, brussel sprouts, green cabbage, cucumbers, green grapes, honeydew melon, kiwi, lettuce, limes, green onions, peas, green pepper, spinach and zucchini.
White fruits and vegetables are colored by white pigments known as anthoxanthins. Such healthful properties of these white plants include a natural chemical called allicin, which provides antibiotic properties as well as anti-fungal protection. Bananas and potatoes are also in the white family and yield the mineral potassium. Fruits and vegetables in this group include: cauliflower, garlic, ginger, mushrooms, onions, parsnips, potatoes and turnips.
